Fall Diocesan League Directors Meeting, September 24-25, 2010 in Washington, DC.
The NCFL Fall Diocesan League Directors Meeting will be at the Marriott Wardman Park at 2660 Woodley Road, NW, Washington, DC on Friday and Saturday, September 24-25, 2010. The rate should be $179 per night. League Directors can call the Marriott at 202-328-2000 for reservations. When making reservations, please ask for the "NCFL" block.
The hotel's website is at http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/wasdt-washington-marriott-wardman-park/
We're planning on dinner and the meeting on Friday night, beginning about 6pm. And on Saturday we expect to be meeting from 8am until 1 or 2pm. We will have no activities scheduled for Saturday afternoon so folks will be free to tour the sights as they wish. We're still working on an activity for Saturday night.
It is easy to get to the Wardman Park from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). You can take a cab to the hotel for about $20. Or you can take the Metro Subway system (www.wmata.com). Just follow the signs out of the airport to the Metro Subway system. Get on either a Blue Line train to Metro Center, or a Yellow Line Train to Gallery Place/Chinatown. At either of those stops get off your train and follow the directions to a Red Line Train to the Woodley Park/Zoo station. When you get off the Red Line Train at Woodley Park, come up to the surface level. If you took the escalator, then look left and right at the top, for the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel sign. Walk up the driveway into the hotel. If you took the elevator out of the station look to your right for the hotel.
You can arrive into Washington Dulles (IAD) or Baltimore Thurgood Marshall (BWI) airports, but the transportation from there is a bit harder. From Dulles it's best to take a cab, for about $65. From BWI, you can rent a car, or play "Trains" and hop the Amtrak from BWI to Union Station DC, and then take the Metro Red Line from Union Station to Woodley Park/Zoo.
If you're taking the train into DC, you should arrive at Amtrak's Union Station/DC. Then follow the signs to the Metro Subway system. Get on a Red Line train to the Woodley Park/Zoo station. When you get off the Red Line Train at Woodley Park, come up to the surface level. If you took the escalator, then look left and right at the top, for the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel sign. Walk up the driveway into the hotel. If you took the elevator out of the station look to your right for the hotel.
