It is with deep regret that the National Catholic Forensic League mourns the passing of Brother Rene Sterner, FSC, after a prolonged and valiant battle with cancer. Brother Rene has served the NCFL over the course of the last forty years as a member of the National Executive Board and as Tournament Director of our annual Grand National Tournament. He is truly a giant in the world of competitive forensics, and his tireless devotion to speech and debate throughout his life has left an indelible impression on the lives of all the students and coaches who were privileged to know him and benefit from his tutelage. But even more than his many contributions to forensics, Brother Rene will always be remembered as a man of deep and abiding religious faith, a man who spent his life living the Gospel message of compassion and love, a De La Salle Christian Brother whose consecrated life truly marked him as a disciple of Jesus. The NCFL offers our prayers and condolences to the members of Brother Rene's family as well as our deep appreciation for all that he has done on our behalf.

Welcome to the home page of the National Catholic Forensic League, dedicated to supporting high school speech and debate activities for public, private, and parochial high schools in the US and Canada.
